Dr. Lisa Litt is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in integrative treatment for substance misuse and traumatic stress.Ìý She currently teaches Introduction to Substance Abuse Counseling and Advanced Issues in Substance Abuse Counseling, part of the curriculum in the Concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling in the MA in General Psychology at Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ for Social Research. Dr Litt oversees the Concentration.
Formerly, Dr. Litt served as the Clinical Director of the Trauma-Focused Programs at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital in New York, a specialty program for women and men grappling with histories of childhood and/or adulthood trauma and addiction.Ìý She continues to hold an appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.Ìý Dr. Litt previously taughtÌýVictimologyÌýat John Jay College of Criminal Justice.ÌýÌý
Dr Litt has been consultant, trainer and clinical supervisor on numerous psychotherapy studies funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, exploring effective treatments for postraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and co-occurring substance use disorders.Ìý Her co-authored books, (2024), andÌýÌý(2009),Ìýprovide guidance for clinicians to effectively treat their clients with co-occuring traumatic stress and problematic substance misuse.
