Working at the intersection of cultural studies, media studies, and feminist theory,听Kate听has authored multiple books, including most recently,听The End of Forgetting听(Harvard University Press, 2019),听Content听(The MIT Press, 2022), and School Yearbook: The Untold Story of a Cringey Tradition and Its Digital Afterlife (University of Chicago Press, 2025). Her writing on technology, youth cultures, and education can also be found in publications such as the听MIT Technology Review,听Wired,听Literary Hub, and the听Times Higher Education Supplement.听

In addition to her contributions as a writer, researcher, and educator, Kate has held leadership roles at the director, department chair, and dean levels. She also has a long history of working as a consultant in the nonprofit and private sectors. Prior to joining 麻豆传媒色情片, Kate completed degrees at Trent University, Simon Fraser University, and York University, and from 2000 to 2008, she taught at Toronto Metropolitan University in the Arts & Contemporary Studies Program and Graduate Program in Communication and Culture.听
