Licensure and Certification Opportunities Related to the MA in Psychology
Students who enroll in Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ’s MA in Psychology are eligible to enroll in the program’s optional Concentration in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling (CMHSAC). They may also be eligible to apply for admission to Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ’s PhD in Clinical Psychology. Please note that the MA in Psychology is not a standalone professional degree leading to licensure.

The CMHSAC and the PhD in Clinical Psychology have been designed to meet educational requirements that are specific to the State of New York.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has granted the required exemption by the Illinois Board of Higher Education to offer online programs to residents of Illinois.

This institution is authorized by the Indiana Board for Proprietary Education, 101 W. Ohio St. Suite 670, Indianapolis, IN 46204-1984.

Indiana students who voluntarily withdraw from all courses will receive a tuition refund as follows: before the start, or 0% of the term = 100% refund; less than 10% of the term = 90% refund; 10% up to but not including 25% of the term = 75% refund; 25% up to but not including 50% of the term = 50% refund; 50% up to but not including 75% of the term = 25% refund; more than 75% of the term = no refund. Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Iowa, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Iowa Student Aid Commission.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is in compliance with Kansas regulations to offer online programs to residents of Kansas.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Kentucky, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is currently licensed by the Board of Regents of the State of Louisiana. Licenses are renewed by the State Board of Regents every two years. Licensed institutions have met minimal operational standards set forth by the state, but licensure does not constitute accreditation, guarantee the transferability of credit, or signify that programs are certifiable by any professional agency or organization.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Maine, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Maine Department of Education.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission to offer online programs to Maryland residents.

The refund policy for Maryland students is as follows: Proportion of Total Course, Program, or Term completed as of Date of Withdrawal or Termination Tuition Refund: Less than 10% = 90% refund; 10% up to but not including 20% = 80% refund; 20% up to but not including 30% = 60% refund; 30% up to but not including 40% = 40% refund; 40% up to and including 60% = 20% refund; more than 61% = no refund.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has approval to offer online programs to residents of Michigan from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs—Private Postsecondary Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Mississippi, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is not required to obtain authorization from the Missouri Department of Higher Education.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has authorization from the Montana Board of Regents.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Nebraska, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have authorization from the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education to offer online programs with a physical presence.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in New Hampshire, it is not required to obtain authorization from the New Hampshire Department of Education, Division of Higher Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in New Jersey, it is not required to obtain approval from the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education to offer online programs to residents of New Jersey.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in New Mexico, it is not required to obtain authorization from the New Mexico Higher Education Department.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is authorized to award degrees and offer degree programs by The State Education Department/The University of the State of New York, Office of Higher Education, 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, New York 12234.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has authorization to offer online programs to residents of North Carolina from the North Carolina Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina—General Administration.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has been granted the required exemption by the North Dakota University System to offer online programs to residents of North Dakota.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has authorization from the Ohio Board of Regents to offer online programs to residents of Ohio.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Oklahoma, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Pennsylvania, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Pennsylvania Department of Education—Division of Higher Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in South Carolina, it is not required to obtain authorization from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in South Dakota, it is not required to obtain authorization from the South Dakota Secretary of State—Postsecondary Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Tennessee, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has an exemption from the Texas Workforce Commission. Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Texas, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ has authorization from the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Vermont, it is not required to obtain authorization from the Vermont Agency of Education.

Because Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ does not have a physical presence in Virginia, it is not required to obtain authorization from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ is authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council and meets the requirements and minimum educational standards established for degree-granting institutions under the Degree-Granting Institutions Act. This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ to offer field placement components for specific degree programs. The council can be contacted for a list of currently authorized programs. Authorization by the council does not carry with it an endorsement by the council of the institution or its programs.
