The TESOL Methods Intensive for Faculty and Staff includes five sessions that explore pedagogical techniques and best practices for teaching international and multilingual learners in both on-site and online environments. Classes cover syllabus development, lesson planning, and practical strategies that can be used to support diverse students across disciplines and in a variety of class types. You’ll be able to share your experiences in a supportive environment with other Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ faculty and staff. The training also counts toward the Certificate in Teaching English.

The TESOL Methods Toolkit is an intensive two-day workshop focused on best practices for teaching international and multilingual students. The course will equip you with techniques, ideas, and resources for classrooms including both native and non-native speakers. These strategies are designed to elicit the richest classroom experience possible for all.  The training is recommended for faculty and staff who cannot commit to the longer five-day TESOL Methods Intensive offered in January and June.

The TESOL Methods Toolkit is offered in October and late February. In addition, the workshop is available at other times upon request by program directors for their program's faculty and staff development.

This  course counts toward the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is open to the public and addresses a wide variety of contexts (the January intensive focuses on supporting students in a university context), but Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ faculty and staff have also enrolled in this class when the intensive format was not possible for them. As a Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ faculty or staff member, you may use your regular Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ course to fulfill the teaching requirement. You can take this course on a tuition waiver.

Faculty and staff who have completed one of the trainings described above may want to take more courses toward the Certificate in TESOL. The TESOL Methods Intensive counts as the Methods and Techniques course for the certificate. There are four additional courses that faculty and staff may take using :
