New York City is one of the safest big cities in the United States. Nevertheless, Â鶹´«Ã½É«Ç鯬 is ever mindful of the personal safety of everyone studying, working, and visiting on our urban campus. Maintaining vigilance is a general responsibility of all members of
our community but particularly of the Department of Campus Safety.
For the convenience of students, faculty, and staff, and as required by law, the Department of Campus Safety publishes a security guide that brings together in one document:
- University rules and policies designed to keep our community safe
- Procedures for reporting emergencies and other security-related incidents
- Guidelines for responding to a variety of possible situations in which people may need professional assistance or advice
- Campus crime statistics
Download the or bookmark it on your computer or mobile device and review the contents, so that you will know how to respond should a security problem arise.
Also read Â鶹´«Ã½É«Ç鯬's policies and guidelines for managing campuswide or citywide emergencies, which are posted on this website under the heading "Safety and Preparedness."
The Campus Safety Department is located at 68 Fifth Avenue, mezzanine level. The office is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The telephone number is 212.229.5101.
