Dr.ÌýMorna LaingÌýis Assistant Professor of Fashion Studies in the school of Art and Design, History and Theory at Âé¶¹´«Ã½É«Ç鯬, Parsons Paris.
Her current research focuses on the culture of sustainability, which underpins her teaching practice on Sustainable Systems and Fashion, Ethics and Environments. She is currently working towards a monograph with Routledge, entitledÌýSustainability and the Fashion Media: Spectatorship, Affect and Social ChangeÌý(forthcoming).
A related strand of Laing's research focuses on gender, spectatorship and reception studies.ÌýShe is author ofÌýPicturing the Woman-child: Fashion, Feminism and the Female GazeÌý(2021)Ìýand co-editor ofÌýRevisiting the Gaze: The Fashioned Body and the Politics of LookingÌý(2020, with Dr. Jacki Willson).
Prior to joining Parsons Paris, she was Senior Lecturer at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, where she coordinated the theory programme for BA Textile Design. SheÌýhasÌýalso lectured at the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins.ÌýSheÌýis a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and holds a PG Cert in Academic Practice for Art, Design and Communication (UAL).
